Discussion of the Winter Basidiomycota Checklist

Altough the mushrooms of summer and autumn may be gone, there are still many species to be found in winter. Look for corticioid and stereoid fungi as well as those with poroid fruiting bodies. Many of these basidiomycetes may look dried up and dead in the winter, but when soaked for an hour or so may surprise you by then producing a good spore print.
