Gregarius (2) at the centre of a woods road in mature Picea rubens forest under Picea rubens, Abies balsamea and Betula alleghaniensis, Campobello Island, New Brunswick (23-09-16/02).

Basidiospores 6.2 –7.5 X 5.3-5.9 μm, D/d = 1.15-1.26. Stipitipellis a loose layer of tangled hyphae overlained by a thin but more compact layer of parallel hyphae, not gelatinous

Differs from Lactarius thyinos in having a dry stipe, in producing green colours in the pileus, and in having shorter, broader basidiospores.
