Notes: The specially-equipped cars are assigned to the general superintendent of every district form coast to coast. They are used for inspection trips, getting the officers over the road quickly yet allowing for a minute coverage of conditions out on the line. Here in New Brunswick, the C.P.R. inspection car is designated M-296, a seven passenger Buick weighing about seven tons after all appliances have been added for its life on the rails."from J.A. Lafreniere, Chief Photographer, CPR June 15, 1951.
