1. Gregarious on a rotting log of Acer saccharinum in forested area dominated by Acer saccharinum and Alnus incana, in annually flooded area by the St. John River, Grand Lake Meadows Protected Natural Area, New Brunswick.(16-08-14/08)

2. Gregarious on leaf litter in forested area dominated by Acer saccharinum and Alnus incana, in annually flooded area by the St. John River, Grand Lake Meadows Protected Natural Area, New Brunswick (19-08-14/06).

Basidiospores forming a white spore print, dacryoid, smooth, amyloid, 8.6-11.2 X 4.4-5.8 µm, D/d = 1.69-2.21 (average: 9.7 X 5.0 µm, D/d = 1.95) (16-08-14/08) and 8.2-12.1 X 4.0-5.4 µm, D/d = 1.75-2.43 (average: 10.0 X 4.5 µm. D/d = 2.22) (19-08-14/06).

The two collections presented here differ somewhat in some of their characteristics. Collection 16-08-14/08 was growing on a rotting log while 19-08-14/06 was clustered in leaf litter. As the illustration shows, they differ also in the shape of their cheilocystidia. However, the differences are slight enough that for the present they have been deposited in the herbarium of the New Brunswick Museum under the same name. Both collections produced abundant "resin" from their cheilocystidia.
