Pluteus cervinus
Pluteus cervinus (Schaeff.) P. Kumm.
Solitary on decaying log of Acer saccharum in a mature hardwood forest, Nipisiguit Protected Natural Area, New Brunswick (11-08-16/05).
Basidiospores subglobose to ellipsoidal, smooth, 5.4-8.6 X 4.3-6.0 µm, D/d = 1.20-1.43 (average[29]: 6.5 X 5.0 µm, D/d = 1.31). Pleurocystidia with mostly unforked apical hooks. Cheilocystidia clavate to balloon-shaped.
