Material received from Drs. James P. Goltz and Gale Hines of the Provincial Veterinary Laboratory, Fredericton, New Brunswick. Removed from the stomach of a dead dog sent for necropsy. This is the second New Brunswick specimen examined by Dr. David Malloch that was associated with the death of a dog; the other being from Sackville in 1972.

With the exception of the two collections cited above, Inocybe curvipes does not appear to have been collected in New Brunswick. The photo at left of fresh fruiting bodies was made in Mississauga, Ontario where it is common. This toxic species is typically found on lawns, often associated with hardwood trees. Young dogs, with their tendency to eat things that catch their attention, are probably at risk on many lawns.
