Galerina pumila
Galerina pumila (Pers.) M. Lange
Gregarious on rotting wood of Populus grandidentata in association with liverworts (probably Jamesoniella autumnalis), Grand Lake Meadows Protected Natural Area, New Brunswick (13-06-13/01).
Basidiospores 10.2-12.7 X 5.3-6.8 μm, D/d = 1.74-2.02, appearing to be smooth, with a distinct plage area in Melzer's solution. Cheilocystidia variable in shape, mostly swollen at the base and with a cylindrical neck, sometimes cylindrical to clavate, 28-34 X 6.4-8.7 μm, clamped at the base.
Not a perfect fit for G. pumila. Spores have a faint but discernable plage. Cheilocystidia are shorter and broader.
