| BEETLES |
|
| Beetles (Coleoptera): When J.B.S. Haldane
(1892-1964), renowned British physiologist and philosopher, was asked what his studes of nature
revealed about God, he replied, "An inordinate fondness for beetles." |

| There have been more species of beetles described
than all other living species combined. An incredibly diverse and adaptable order of insects, beetles
display an array of shapes and colours that are nothing short of amazing. This try from the New Brunswick Museum
insect collection contains a selection of beetles from New Brunswick and elsewhere. Not surprisingly, there
is still much to learn about this group of insects - as of yet we can't even asnwer the most basic of
questions - how many species of beetles occur in the province? |
